Castle of Werfen

The castle of Werfen is located on top of the mountain. It is known as the „sibling“ of the castle Hohensalzburg in the city of Salzburg and dates back to the 11th century. Across centuries it had the function of a jail and harboured even the bishop Wolf Dietrich von Raitenau. Today the castle is known as a site of conviviality and offers a comfortable frame to cultural, musical and culinary events. Furthermore, professional falconers demonstrate classical falconry.
