Three prominent friends of Mozart of today will also be in the spotlight in 2020, thus continuing the tradition of the Mozart Week of bringing the world's best Mozart interpreters to Salzburg. Mitsuko Uchida continues her Mozart dance with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. With Le nozze di Figaro, Sir András Schiff begins a new concertante Da Ponte cycle with his Cappella Andrea Barca and an outstanding ensemble of singers. Together with the Vienna Philharmonic, Daniel Barenboim opens a cycle with Mozart's last ten symphonies and the last eight piano concertos, which will extend over the next four years.
